Abstract/Contents:Cool, wet spring weather conditions can cause transition problems in overseeded turf. The rate of overseeding is an important factor in transition to bermudagrass. Removal of the overseeded ryegrasses to allow bermudagrass to return from dormancy can be encouraged by: use of post-emergence, non-selective herbicide such a glyphosate, mowing more frequently at a lower cutting height, using high-salt-indexed nitrogen fertilizers, and withholding water.
