Abstract/Contents:Discusses winter golf in New Zealand from the point of view of turfgrass, suggesting to "imagine for a moment that we have become grass plants on a golf course. We enjoy a pretty good life really. Fed regularly, drinks when we get dry." Considers from the human perspective why maximum usage and wear is made to occur during times of minimum recovery. Lists possible advantages of golfing during the winter, focusing on daylight savings, better weather, easily maintained competition schedules, and better playing conditions.
