| Abstract/Contents: | In February of 1989 the first continuing education classes for Greenkeepers were held in Germany at the DEULA-Lehranstalt in Kempen. The courses are organized into three sessions each lasting three weeks. Between each course a season of practical experience in the field is required. The A-course deals with fundamentals of greenkeeping such as recognition of damage, identification of the most important turfgrasses, understanding the specific needs of the various sections of the golf course etc. The B-course builds uopn such basics, going into greater detail regarding regeneration, servicing sprinkler systems and introduction to machinery in general etc., while the C-course focuses on Greenkeeping as management. |
