Abstract/Contents:Discusses San Bernardino, California's Water-Wise Landscape Agreement, which aims to replace all existing single-family, residential property landscaping that requires irrigation with "vegetation that requires less or no irrigation. In addition, the property owner agrees to allow the existing lawn...to die by withholding irrigation." Concludes that "the costs and the benefits of the competing land uses should be weighed when large-scale changes are considered."
