| Abstract/Contents: | Provides updates on turf related studies done at the University of Massachusetts. Focuses on traffic wear and compaction, and the "fertility trials...established to investigate the effects of five N [Nitrogen] rates in combination with K [Potassium] rates on wear tolerance and associated mechanisms." Concludes that N rates in excess of 5 pounds led to faster recovery but greater wear injury while rates less than 3 pounds were much slower in recovering, whereas K rates of more than 5 pounds resulted in loss in wear tolerance and leaf cell wall content. |
