| Abstract/Contents: | "Merion Kentucky bluegrass plots 24 x 32 ft. were established in 1971 at two fertility levels. 2.5-1-1 and 10-4-4 lbs/1000 ft. Eight 6 x 10 ft. subplots were established in each main plot consisting of 7 herbicide treatments and a control. Herbicides used were those most frequently employed as part of a turf management program. Preemergence crabgrass materials were first used on these plots this spring. Herbicide effects on plant growth, turf quality and CO2 metabolism are being studied. This experiment will be maintained for several years to determine the influence of repeated herbicide usage on turf physiology." |
