Abstract/Contents: | Looks at the growing controversy regarding the safety of the pesticides used in maintaining home lawns. Includes background information on: 1) Effect of DDT on wildlife, 2) Agent Orange controversy, 3) Environmental Protection Agency, 4) Clinical ecologist movement, and 5) Groundwater contamination. Discusses developing a coalition of turf industry professionals to promote the safety of the industry. Procedures for addressing communities regarding local pesticide regulation, media coordination, and the lawn care industry are given. |
