Abstract/Contents: | Describes the turf maintenance and fertilization program used to improve the 32 courts at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, UK. The full maintenance program includes: aeration, overseeding, topdressing, soil testing, and fertilizing. A new fertilizer was developed to meet the requirements of fine turf which does not need phosphate applications when applying nitrogen. Zero Phosphate has a 14:0:7 NPK formulation, plus two parts iron and one part magnesium. Variations of the fertilizer are being developed. |
