Abstract/Contents:Suggests that "understanding how your sports facility impacts...the environment, and conversely how the environment impact your facility is fundamental to current and future operation and development." Explains how to calculate the carbon footprint of a sports facility, indicating that it is "established by calculating the amount of electricity, gas, oil, petrol, diesel, and water consumed annually and the amount of waste it produces." Adds that a carbon audit may then be calculated, stating that it "evaluates the materials and processes that contribute to the day-to-day running of...[a] sports facility and provides practical advice on their efficiency." Addresses how to reduce spending as a result of carbon auditing, stressing the potential importance that "the key message...is not to get left behind." Concludes that "an Environmental Policy will ensure the maintenance of efficient working practices, allowing the development and implementation of a streamlined and efficient working model."
