Abstract/Contents:Discusses the control of spurges (Euphorbia), noting that they might be the "most common and serious weeds in bermudagrass turf in Arizona." Briefly describes the growth pattern of the plant, mentioning that "the spurge problem is greatest after the start of the summer rains." Suggests that "frequent hand weeding" might be the best means of controlling the plant in small numbers, but recommends the use of Dimethyl Tetrachloroterephthalate (DCPA), a preemergence herbicide, for controlling general infestations. Advises that "control with DCPA has been good under sprinkler irrigation, but less satisfactory under flood irrigation."
