Abstract/Contents: | Discusses seed mixtures in regards to the success of the construction of sports ground. Explains that "the aim of a seeds mixture is to establish valuable plants which will persist for a s long as the turf is requires," adding that short-lived plants should rarely be included in a mixture. Acknowledges the difficulty in choosing the correct choice of species and suggests that "unless a particular ingredient contributes in a material way to the final turf, money has been wasted by including that ingredient in the seeds mixture." Recommends not mixing two species which serve the same purpose or that "no one ingredient hinders the development of another." |
