| Abstract/Contents: | Profiles white grubs, providing recommendations for their management on athletic fields. Briefly details the numerous types of white grubs, and mentions methods for determining whether there is a significant infestation. Explains that white grubs may cause extensive damage to athletic fields, and suggests sampling the soil throughout a field to determine whether white grubs are present. Provides methods for preventive control and application timings, as well as curative controls if white grubs are already present. States that "for best results with any insecticide, mow the turf and rake out dead grass and thatch before treatment." Lists potential insecticide types and their target species. |
