| Abstract/Contents: | Announces Purdue University and Mt. (Mount) San Antonio College as winners of the Student Challenge held at the 22nd Annual Sports Turf Managers Association conference. Briefly details the competition, explaining that "more than 110 students, representing 23 colleges, universities, and technical schools, entered a total of 31 teams. [Students] participated in a multiple choice exam on athletic turf and sports field management topics...[and answered] a series of challenging short answer questions about given scenarios." Notes that each of the winners of the challenge will receive four-thousand dollars in the form of a research grant to their respective schools and the honor of having their team name etched into the Student Challenge cup. |
