Abstract/Contents:Addresses the difference between a golf course superintendent's maintenance philosophy and course agronomic issues, suggesting that "each of these areas can be a potential point of conflict between the golf course maintenance staff and course officials as the golf course is prepared for daily play." Notes that some maintenance issues may be both philosophical and agronomical in nature, such as putting green aeration. Encourages superintendents to avoid becoming emotional and to instead "offer a strong opinion and defend that position to encourage the right decisions to be made."
