Abstract/Contents: | Evaluated 5 herbicide treatments applied to established mixed stand of Kentucky bluegrass, Red fescue, and perennial ryegrass for control of crabgrass and the dicot weeds dandelion knotweed, black medic, and mouse ear chickweed. Treatments were applied in a randomized complete block design with 3 reps on 8/9/89 and herbicide injury and % control was rated on 8/15, 8/26, and 9/8. Treatments were 1) Acclaim 1E (0.25lb/A) + Turflon amine (0.5lb/A) 2) Acclaim 1E (0.25lb/A) + Turflon ester (0.5lb/A) 3) Acclaim 1E (0.35lb/A) + Trimec (1.5lb/A) 4) Acclaim 1E (0.25lb/A) and 5) Acclaim 1E (0.25lb/A) + Confront (o.75lb/A). Acclaim, a postemergent crabgrass herbicide was tank mixed with the systemic broadleaf weed herbicides. No significant herbicide injury occurred on any rating date. Acclaim 1E + Trimec or Confront were the most effective treatments for combined postemergence control of crabgrass and dicot weeds. The broadleaf weed herbicides did not influence the efficacy of Acclaim as a postemergent crabgrass herbicide. |
