Abstract/Contents:Recognizes the stress golf course turf is put under and provides potential methods to lessen the stress levels. Suggests that the plants lack energy from being kept at a short leaf height. Continues that nitrogen is the mineral used in the greatest amounts by plants, and that increasing its availability to plants may provide them with more energy. Explains the roles ammonium and nitrate play in plant growth. Discusses research experiments conducted to explore ways to save plant energy during the conversion of nitrate into ammonium by feeding the plant nitrogen through different sources.
