| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicide treatments were established on the Triangle Turf Farm at Bay City, Texas in the Fall of 1989. Treatments were applied on 6 x 70 ft. plots in a randomized complete block design and replicated four times. Application was made with a compressed air tractor mounted sprayer equipped with flat fan nozzles (8006). Materials were applied in the equivalent of 50 gallons of water per acre with a pressure of 32 p.s.i Application dates were 19 Sept, 3 Oct and 17 Oct. Disease occurred as a result of natural infection. A nitrogen application using 50 lbs. N per acre was made on 3 Oct to stimulate plant growth. All other production inputs were consistent with those used for normal commercial production. Brown patch symptoms first became evident on 3 Oct and continued to develop until the time of evaluation. Test I contained materials that required lower efficacy rates while Test II contained chemicals requiring higher rates. Two opposing chemicals were used in each test for comparative purposes. Disease development was more uniform in Test 1 that Test II. These tests were separated only by a field road and experienced the same production and environmental conditions. While numerical difference in performance occurred in Test II, the lack of uniformity in disease development precluded statistical differences." |
