| Abstract/Contents: | "By means of deep soil sampling mineral nitrogen and soluble nitrogen contents in soils with turf were determined to a depth of 10 m. Generally, nitrogen contents were very low. Long-term fertilization of turf increases the amount of nitrogen bonded to the organic matter in the top soil. Sampling of a fertilizer trial down to soil depth of 3 m showed that only with excessive fertilizer rates there is a slight increase in the N content of the soil, down to a depth of 1 m at most. The soil layer below that contains only insignificant amounts of soluble nitrogen." |
