Abstract/Contents:Summarizes research presented at the 2010 University of Connecticut Field Day, conducted to evaluate tall fescue cultivars. Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "eighteen tall fescue cultivars were established using a completely randomized block design with three replicates of each...Two different rating systems were used on a monthly basis: 1) overall turf quality and 2) turfgrass color." Reports that "there were no significant differences in the top eight cultivars evaluated visually and the top eight cultivars evaluated with the Spectrum CM 1000 Color Meter." Concludes that "in 2009, seasonal visual ratings were highest for M4, BARF FA 6253, BAR FA [BAR FA] 6263, Rebel IV, Falcon IV, 04-3 FA, Barvado, and Firebird."
