Abstract/Contents:Summarizes research presented at the 2010 University of Connecticut Field Day, conducted "to determine the wear tolerance responses of various Kentucky bluegrass cultivars and experimental lines to traffic." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "the field was seeded in the spring of 2008 and the experiment was set out as a split-plot design with 3 replicates." Reports that "wear tolerance varies greatly among the different entries...Performance of many of the cultivars without traffic was markedly different than when they were assessed under trafficked conditions." Concludes that "it is important for field managers to choose cultivars selected for wear tolerance."
