Abstract/Contents:Presents research conducted on the potential for velvet bentgrass to be utilized on Scandinavian putting greens. Identifies previous concerns over its use as "whether current cultivars have sufficient winter hardiness, and whether it is possible to control the rapid formation of thatch." Evaluates velvet bentgrass' resistance to pink snow mold, freezing tolerance, percentage of organic matter, infiltration rate, visual quality, and mat thickness. Reports that "the project is now finished. Five scientific papers and a doctoral thesis are almost ready for submission."
