Abstract/Contents:Briefly discusses severe weather conditions during the summer of 2010, and emphasizes the potential importance of communication with golf course staff and members during times of extreme weather. Details ways in which the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) may help further careers for those in the golf industry, and states that "the GCSAA members, chapter leaders, USGA [United States Golf Association] agronomist, and employers that I have spoken with have indicated that last year's joint communications efforts by the industry were very effective in creating a widespread understanding of the challenges that we faced."
