| Abstract/Contents: | Changes in cover, sward composition and tensile strength were measured for turf produced from 2 seed mixtures. The greatest wear tolerance was shown by Lolium perenne and Poa annua. The least tolerance was shown by Festuca rubra, Achillea alba and Trifolium repens. Poa pratensis, Phleum pratense, Cynosurus cristatus, Agrostis tenuis and Achillea millefolium were intermediate in wear tolerance. Wear for 2 h/week produced no appreciable change in turf cover from either seed mixture. |
