Mentions research reporting negative results from cultivation, and explains that "in spite of the research and the colossal frustration of golfers, golf course superintendents observed a benefit." Overviews research conducted in Arkansas and Nebraska, and states that "data from the first year showed there is no difference in organic matter [OM] levels between hollow tine and solid tine aerification, but both treatments accumulated less OM then [than] no aerification."
