Abstract/Contents:Nutsedge is one of the world's most troublesome weeds. It robs the soil of nutrients and competes with desirable plants for sunlight and moisture. In fine turfgrass areas nutgrass is unsightly because of its coarse testure and rapid shoot growth. It is also very difficult to control because of its prolific seed production and its underground network of rhizomes and tubers. It is virtually impossible to eradicate, but by using good cultural practices and herbicides nutsedge can be controlled.
