Abstract/Contents: | A recent survey conducted by South Carolina Agricultural Extension Service found that only 15% of the sprayers they checked were operating correctly. The most applicator mistakes were made in the area of calibration, as shown by a study done by Nebraska ag engineers. The applicators should take time to be sure they are knowledgable about calibration and frequently recheck their equipment. There are several techniques for calibration. The North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service has a computer program designed to help with calibration, and there are methods listed in the N. C. Agricultural Chemicals Manual. Also, several companies offer videos on sprayer calibration. |
