Abstract/Contents:At the Lansing Country Club, 6 replications of 7 insecticide treatments including parasitic nematodes were applied to 4 sq. ft. plots of annual bluegrass and creeping bentgrass. 17 days after treatment the number of live grubs contained in 6 cup cutter plugs (4" diam.) taken from each plot were counted. Most effective against Ataenius larvae were: AC 290230, AC 290713, and Mocap 5 G. Treatments that did not work well: Proxol 80 SP, Sevin SL, and HP-88 nematodes. Oftanol, Turcam and Dylox 5 G are still recommended for Ataenius control--use a granular formulation whenever possible.
