Abstract/Contents: | "Where will seedsmen put their money this year? Planting/harvesting machinery and computer software will be in high demand, according to the results of a survey of independent professional seedsmen. Projected spending and acreage expansions also are highlighted. In mid-January, Seed World sent a questionnaire to over 130 seed companies belonging to the Independent Professional Seedsmen's Association (IPSA). The survey asked several questions of these seedsmen to learn more about their current equipment and supply needs and intentions. The response was impressive. Approximately 39% of those surveyed (or 51 seed companies) provided answers to several questions concerning buying and production intentions, needs in the marketplace, safety and so on." |
