Abstract/Contents:Overviews the oil spillage on green #5 at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course and the search to find a solution to remove it before the upcoming Ladies' Spring Fling, Men's Senior Citizen, and Pro-Am tournaments. Discusses the potential benefits of using use a hydrocarbon material to take the hydraulic oil off of the bent grass. Adds that not until the fourteenth day did damage appear, and when it did it was "about the length and width of a pencil in short streaks" instead of the previous possibility of "four inches wide and seventy feet long, plus another twenty feet." Mentions that the product used to wash the turf was Amway's Adjuvant with LOC, 5 ounces to one gallon of warm water.
