Abstract/Contents:Discusses the water shortage in Santa Cruz, California and how it has directly affected irrigation practices at Pasatiempo Golf Course. States that due to the water shortage, Pasatiempo had to turn off "420 sprinkler heads out of approximately 961. This means we are not watering our rough, to the rear of several greens and the first one hundred to one hundred fifty yards of our fairways." Adds that Pasatiempo has "also gone to more hand watering of tees and greens, and we no longer use soakers to supplement fairway watering."
