Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the importance of thinking about the future of the golf course industry when making decisions. Suggests that the biggest issue facing the industry is environmental, including protecting water quality and the use of pesticides and herbicides. Notes that management and certification programs in numerous states have been used to achieve success in environmental stewardship and complying with new laws and regulations. Concludes that the industry should proactively work towards solving these problems, as " the best way to predict the future is to create it." |
