| Abstract/Contents: | States that the price of fertilizer is heavily affected by the price of corn, because as more corn is produced in order to make ethanol fuel, more fertilizer is needed to grow the corn. Notes that urea-based fertilizers have also increased in cost because the use of natural gas is important in the production process. Explains that because of this, Agrium Advanced Technologies (AAG) is attempting to sell slow-release products which are higher in price, but require less applications. Notes that this can help superintendents better plan and manage their budgets. |
