| Abstract/Contents: | A recently mown and irrigated 10-year-old lawn was covered with a soil:sand:organic matter (1:1:2 v:v) mixture in layers 1, 2 or 3 cm deep. The lawn was irrigated regularly and mown at 2-month intervals during the 8 months after application. Data on the amount of new growth and the number of rhizomes produced indicated that 3 and 3 cm layers gave the best lawn renewal. |
