Abstract/Contents:"Two leaching studies (fall 1989 and summer 1990) were conducted to examine pesticide movement from turfgrass systems at the ARESTS facility, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. ARESTS (Automated Rain Exclusion System for Turfgrass Studies) consists of 27 in-field draining lysimeters, a rain-out shelter and a precipitation control system. Each free-draining lysimeter is 3.2m x 3.2m in area, with a soil profile depth of 30cm. For the fall 1989 study, total leachate was collected to determine output volume, and subsamples were taken for analysis. A tipping bucket system was installed for the summer 1990 study wich tabulated total output volume and subsampled the leachate."
