Abstract/Contents:Details the challenge issued by owner/manager of the Redstone Golf Club, The Redstone Companies, to all of his employees to measure the amount they walk each day by a pedometer. Profiles the Redstone Golf Club, noting who designed it, the workers it employes, and the turf challenges it poses. Explains that the participation from the turf care team of Redstone was exceedingly high and as a team they walked "4,445 miles for the month and 203 miles per day. The average person walked approximately 154 miles for the month and almost 5.5 miles per day." Lists other information that came from measuring distances and suggests the challenge helped the superintendent become wiser and more aware of his course. Notes the positive reaction the employees had concerning the challenge and the appreciation they have for their health and efforts.
