Abstract/Contents: | States that Frank Chirkinian was not the first person to paint hole rims to make them more visible, and that courses have been using this tactic since 1917. Explains that golfers in the early 1900s were "working on their game at indoor facilities" and that "they were also practicing at night under electric and gas lights." Mentions an experiment that used electric lights at night to stimulate grass growth on a golf course. |
