Abstract/Contents: | Studies were conducted for 2 years to evaluate combinations of MSMA with methazole and metribuzin for the selective control of mature Eleusine indica in turf. Two applications of MSMA at 2.2 kg/ha in combination with methazole or at 0.14 kg/ha or metribuzin at 0.08 kg/ha controlled a higher percentage of E. indica than MSMA alone at 2.2 or 3.3 kg and were equal to 2 applications of methazole or metribuzin alone at 6 or 7 times the amount used for combination treatment. A combination of MSMA at 2.2 kg/ha with methazole at 0.14 kg or metribuzin 0.08 kg resulted in severe turfgrass yellowing, but a well maintained turf usually recovered within 3-4 weeks without any stand loss. |
