| Abstract/Contents: | "An experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance of selected chemicals on Poa annua seedhead suppression at the Blue Course of the Penn State University, University Park, PA. Treatments were arranged in a complete randomized block design with three replications. Treatments were applied with a 3', CO2 powered boom sprayer, delivering 40 gal/A with two T-jet 8004 nozzles, on April 23, 1991. Seedhead inhibition was calculated by dividing the percent seedheads present for each treatment by the percent seedheads present in the check, multipling that value by 100, then subtracting it from 100. Plots were rated May 23, 1991. Embark provided the best suppression of all treatments and suppression increased as rate increased. There was not enough discoloration to rate, although embark alone did cause some slight discoloration to the turf, however, when combined with Ferromec to Embark appeared to cause a slight reduction in seedhead suppression. CGA 163935 and Cutless did not provide acceptable control of seedheads." |
