| Abstract/Contents: | "When greening up outdoor areas it is of the utmost importance to pay a particular attention to where the seeds and plants are coming from in order to prevent non-resident invasive species and make sure that the seeds are conform to the directives given out to conserve the nature. The Research and Developing Association for environmental planning and landscaping e.V. (FLL) will soon publish new guidelines under the title "Recommendations for revegetation with resident seeds". These guidelines will be used for standardizing the definitions as well as the recommendations for action which will aim at an optimal utilization of local wild plants with specific seed mixtures for regional seeds. The groups targeted for these new guidelines are, besides the obvious seed producers and distributors, the executors and the public authority as well as the planners. The guidelines will help them to choose the best greening technique with regional seeds and when calling for tenders. in this case it concerns, on the one side, specific seeds typical for the region (regional seeds) giving so a minimum of standard for greening outdoor golf courts and, on the other side, it concerns also the greening of open spaces (referring to landscapes) under maximum demands such as, for exemple [example], with respect to the measurements of compensations regarding the protection of the nature." |
