Abstract/Contents:"The correlation and path-coefficient analysis of 8 agronomic characters in Lolium multiflorum were studied. The results indicated that there were significantly positive correlations between seed yield per plant and number of ears per plant, number of grains per ear, ear length, blade weight, plant height, 1000 grain weight and stem weight. r=0.919**, 0.808**, 0.635**, 0.588**, 0.565**, 0.375*, and 0.351*, respectively. The direct path-coefficients of 7 traits above on seed yield per plant were 0.621, 0.373, 0.148, 0.117, 0.048, 0.164 and -0.223 seperately [separately]. Both the direct number of ears per plant on seed yield per plant and the indirect effect of each character number of ears per plant were highest among 7 characters. Number of ears per plant, therefore, played a key role in improving seed yield."
