| Abstract/Contents: | "The introduction and evaluation test on 19 cultivars of warm season turfgrasses were conducted in Shengzheng during 1993~1994. 5 cultivars were suitable for lawns, and 7 cultivars for athletic fields. According to ordination and comprehensive evaluation, manilagrass (Zoysia mattella [matrella]) and mascarenegrass (Z. tenuifolia) were the first selection for lawns, and among the turf type cultivars, Lanyin 1 bermudagrass (Cynodou daetyloa [Cynodon dactylon]) was suitable for golt [golf] course greens, Tifway II, Newzealand bermudagrass and Thailand bermudagrass (C. dadylon [dactylon]) for golf course tees and fairways, Lanyin 3 Zoysiagrass (Z. japoneia [japonica]) and Japanese Lawngrass (Z. japonica) for football fields, fairways and roughs of golf course." |
