Abstract/Contents: | "The biological features and winter turf quality of three species of Zoysia in Guangzhou were studied by means of vegetative multiplication establishment. The results showed that Zoysia japonica cv. "Laiyin No. III" had rapid vegetative establishment, high dry matter weight, multiple stolon, deep and rich root, high density of tiller, long leaf sheath, high stress tolerance and good reproductive capacity. It could keep green in high-level-management in winter and could be used to establish open public and sport turf ground. Z. matrella had slow turf establishment, but could form dense, fine texture and slow growing turf, and keep green in winter in middle management, it could be used to establish kinds of turf. However, Z. japonica had much thatch and withered in winter, it was not an ideal turf grass in local region." |
