Abstract/Contents:"Turf performance of three bluegrass was evaluated by germination experiment in the petri-dish and observation in field. The results indicate that germination rate of the wild bluegrass in Sunan region is seventy-nine, although its germination rate is inferior to control Baron cultivar, it has reached to the second seeding standard; seedling emergence rate and leaf color is slightly less than Baron cultivar, coverage is equal to Baron in the early growth period and is prior to Baron at the end of the living season, at the same time, leaf length is slender and it has the better overwintering and drought resistance than Baron, therefore; it could be used as a kind of turfgrass after introduction and domestication. Germination rate of the wild bluegrass in Tianzhu is only forty-eight, but leaf length is the slenderest and the ability of overwintering is the best of three, so it is a good breeding material."
