Abstract/Contents:"The effects of growth of Cynodon dactylon from two sources on enzyme activities in soils polluted by copper was studied in pot cultivation experiments. With higher Cu concentrations, the activities of catalase, urease, invertase, phosphatase, and polyphenoloxidase gradually decreased. There was a significant negative correlation between Cu concentration and soil enzyme activities. C. dactylon reduced the inhibition of Cu on the activities of catalase, urease, invertase, phosphatase and polyphenoloxidase from cultivated C. dactylon. Among them, the function of C. dactylon from polluted areas was greater than that from unpolluted areas, and the enzyme activities had a positive correlation to dry weight of C. dactlyon. Urease activity may be a monitoring index for Cu polluted soil and one of the appraisal indexes of phytoremediation effects for Cu polluted soil."
