| Abstract/Contents: | "During a 2-year evaluation of 993 space planted Zoysia entries arising from 45 different genetic sources, critical visual estimates and objective measurements of morphological factors contributing to turf quality, were compared. Cover was estimated visually, by presence and by absence of vegetation in subquadrats. Leaf height, leaf width, stolon number, stolon length, and stolon internode length were compared. Simple correlation studies were conducted on all possible combinations of the above eight factors. Multiple correlations were computed to find the best combination of two or more morphological characters, which contributed most heavily to cover as measured by each of the three methods." |
