| Abstract/Contents: | Relates findings from a four-year (1990-1993) study done at the Purdue University Agronomy Research Center to determine the quality of 18 cultivars of bentgrass intended for use on golf course fairways. Cultivars are assigned yearly rankings based on visual quality. Details the soil properties, seeding rates, fertilizer applications and maintenance practices which formed the conditions for growth at the experiment site. Shares how problems with thatch (left untreated for the experiment) led to uneven growth and scalping. |
