Abstract/Contents:"Preliminary field tests have shown Dowco 221 to be effective in controlling many of the annual grassy weeds. Soil incorporation immediately after application significantly enhances activity. Preemergence applications have been effective in controlling crabgrass in bluegrass turf. At herbicidal rates broadleaf species are tolerant. Combination with other chemicals is necessary where broadleaf control is desired. Effective rates are 4 to 8 lb/A. Persistence in the soil is relatively short depending in part upon formulation and incorporation technique. Effective activity for 4 to 6 weeks is a reasonable expectation. The LD50 value in female rats is 8.53 gm/kg."
