Abstract/Contents:"Seeds of 8 wild Poa materials collected in Gansu Province under different moisture gradients were used study the effect of moisture on germination characteristics in order to provide the basic information for the domestication. The results indicated that the germination rate, germination potential, germination index, seedling height, root length and fresh weight showed a pattern of rising at beginning and then decreasing with the increase of moisture gradients; The germination rate, germination potential and germination index of seeds collected in Sunan were the highest under 5% of moisture, while those of the rest reached the highest under 10% of moisture, and they were significantly higher than other moisture treatments. The seedling height of Poa micrandra and P.sphodylodes were the highest under 10% of moisture, while other reached the highest under 15% of moisture; The root length reached the largest under 5% of moisture; The fresh weight were significantly inhibited when the moisture was too high or too low."
