Abstract/Contents:"In a 6-year experiment at Tifton, organic nitrogen (activated sewage sludge) reduced the number of Belonolaimus longicaudatus on 'Tifgreen' Bermuda grass more than did inorganic nitrogen (ammonium nitrate). Under greenhouse conditions populations of B. longicaudatus and Hypsoperine graminis were higher on turf treated with inorganic nitrogen than on turf treated with organic nitrogen. Average plant weights on turf that received organic nitrogen were greater than those that received inorgranic nitrogen."
