Abstract/Contents: | "Autochtone plants had been planted at the Fürschießer, a mountain in the Allgau Alps, since 1985, certified seed since 1988. The existing vegetation is part of the Poion alpinae population, the Poion alpinae, including some relics of the potential natural vegetation (blue grass slopes, mat grass turfs, peat populations). The area suffering from erosion due to poor subsoil and overgrazing were newly planted with the result that 16 per cent of the area had a green cover. When they were fertilized in addition, the maximum cover was 28.5 per cent. Seedings may result in a 70 per cent cover and even more, but blank spots and non-emergence must be expected. When compared with an area with natural growth, it appears that the growth of the vegetation may be advanced through the measures just explained." |
